Upholstery Cleaning in Oroville, CA

Furniture is not carpet. We test the fiber before we choose a method, and we never over-wet a cushion.

Renew and revitalize your furniture with specialized upholstery cleaning that restores its original beauty. A sofa absorbs body oils, food, pet dander and airborne dust for years before anybody thinks to have it cleaned, and most of what makes an old couch look old is soil sitting in the fiber rather than wear in the fabric.

The reason we hold a Master Textile Cleaner certification and not just a carpet certification is that furniture is where the difference shows. A fabric that will take hot water extraction and a fabric that will shrink, bleed or watermark under it look identical to most people. Getting that wrong ruins a piece that was perfectly cleanable.

We test before we clean

Every piece is identified and tested first — the fiber content, the backing, whether the dye is stable, and how the piece is constructed. Only then do we choose between hot water extraction, a low-moisture method, or a dry solvent clean.

Cushion cores are the other half of it. A cushion that has been soaked will hold water in the foam long after the cover feels dry, and that is where the musty smell people complain about after a bad clean comes from. We control how much moisture goes in and we dry the piece properly before we leave.

What we clean

Sofas, sectionals, recliners, dining chairs, headboards, ottomans and office seating. We work in homes across Oroville, Chico, Paradise and the rest of Butte County, and in commercial buildings where reception and waiting-room seating takes far more traffic than anything in a house.

One of our customers put it better than we can: a cherished recliner came back looking the way she remembered it, and the results were "beautiful". That is the job — furniture that people are attached to, cleaned so they can keep it.

Where we work

High Tech provides upholstery cleaning services across Butte County, California — Oroville, Chico, Paradise, Palermo, Durham, Gridley, and Biggs — and just over the county line in Marysville. See every area we serve.

FAQ

Upholstery Cleaning questions

Will cleaning shrink or watermark my furniture?

Not if the method matches the fabric, which is why we test the fiber, the backing and the dye stability before we start. Some fabrics take hot water extraction; others need a low-moisture or dry solvent method. Choosing wrong is what causes shrinking and watermarking, and testing is how it is avoided.

How long does upholstery take to dry?

Typically two to six hours depending on the fabric and the method used. We control how much moisture goes into the piece rather than soaking it and hoping, so the cushion cores dry with the cover instead of days later.

Can you clean leather?

Leather is cleaned and conditioned rather than extracted, and it is a different process from fabric. Tell us what you have when you call and we will bring what the piece needs.
